Buffering is a symptom, not a diagnosis. It can come from Wi-Fi, household congestion, the device, the player, the source stream, or the provider server. Test each layer in order.
Test more than one channel
If one channel buffers while others play, the source stream may be degraded. If every channel buffers, check the local connection and player first. Record the channel, time, device, and duration so support can investigate a specific event.
Compare the network
- Test near the viewing device, not only beside the router.
- Pause downloads, cloud backups, and updates.
- Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet where possible.
- Try another trusted online video app.
Use the Wi-Fi versus Ethernet guide and the internet speed guide for consistent measurements.
Check the player and device
Restart the player, check for updates, and clear cache if the device allows it. Do not clear data until you have the original account details. A hot device, nearly full storage, or an outdated decoder can also interrupt playback.
Be careful with VPN and DNS changes
A VPN can change the route and either improve or reduce performance. DNS changes do not create bandwidth and may make diagnosis harder. Test one change at a time and keep the better result.
When to contact support
Contact the provider when multiple supported devices fail, several channels fail together, or the problem occurs at a predictable time. Include useful evidence instead of only reporting “buffering.” The main troubleshooting guide covers account and service checks.
Check the device itself
A streaming box that is hot, nearly full, or running several background apps can drop playback even when the internet connection is healthy. Restart it, check storage, update the player, and test another device on the same network. If the second device works, focus on the original hardware or app.
Use evidence when reporting a service issue
Record whether the problem affects one channel or all channels, whether Ethernet changes it, and whether another online video app works. Include the exact time and device in the support request. This is more useful than changing DNS, VPN, and player settings together. Continue with the full troubleshooting guide when the cause remains unclear.
