IPTV EPG Not Working: Fix Blank Guide Data, Wrong Times, and Missing Channels

IPTV EPG Not Working - Voostream IPTV guide

If live channels play but the programme guide is blank or wrong, the account may be working normally. EPG problems usually come from time zone settings, guide sources, mapping, or stale player data.

Check the device clock first

Set the device date, time, and time zone automatically. A correct stream with a guide shifted by one or more hours often points to the clock or daylight-saving setting rather than the provider.

Refresh the guide

  1. Open the player’s guide settings.
  2. Refresh or update the EPG data.
  3. Wait for the player to finish processing the list.
  4. Reopen the guide and check several channels.

Large playlists may take time to process. Avoid adding several unknown EPG sources because they can create duplicate or conflicting data.

Check the source and mapping

Some providers include guide data with the account; others supply an XMLTV URL separately. If the player asks for a channel identifier, the provider’s identifier must match the guide entry. A few channels missing while others work can indicate incorrect mapping.

Separate EPG from stream problems

If live TV works and only guide data fails, focus on EPG settings. If channels are also empty or failing, review the playlist or login using the M3U guide or Xtream Codes guide.

When to contact the provider

Report the player, device, time zone, missing channel names, and last refresh time. Do not send public screenshots containing account credentials. For wider playback diagnosis, use the IPTV troubleshooting guide.

Check the playlist format

M3U playlists may need a separate XMLTV source, while some Xtream Codes accounts return guide data through the account response. Confirm which format your provider supplies before adding a second source. A guide URL from an unrelated service can create wrong programme names and duplicate channels.

Refresh without losing the account

Save the original credentials first. Then refresh the guide, close and reopen the player, and check a small group of channels. If the guide remains blank but live streams work, contact the provider with the device, player, time zone, and affected channel names. Do not publish the account URL when asking for help.
